Creative Leader for Spring Term 2023
Heather has always had a passion for the performing arts since she was young, starting dancing at the age of three, and hasn’t stopped since. She graduated from Edge Hill University with a BA(Hons) in Dance, where she was involved in many dance projects, including two touching on the effects of climate change; one by Bettina Carpi, the other Louisa Robey.
While at university, and throughout her life, Heather has been trained and has experience in ballet, tap, modern dance, jazz, contemporary, commercial, Irish, flamenco, capoeira and kathak, as well as dance theatre, musical theatre, and drama.
Heather’s most notable role was as a dancer in Chester Storyhouse’s production of Wizard of Oz in 2018, where she played a wide range of characters, from an Ozian to a monkey to a poppy. Performing is one of her favourite things to do in the performing arts as well as teaching.
Heather is a freelance dance teacher and gained much of her teaching experience at her university dance society. She enjoys being able to share her knowledge and love for the performing arts and believes every child should have the opportunity to love and enjoy the arts and to be able to participate in them. Heather gets great satisfaction from watching children and young people grow and become more confident with their skills and be excited to be in the classes.
