Our 60 strong cast of 11-19 year olds are busy rehearsing for our production of the Andrew Lloyd-Webber masterpiece, set to take to the stage next March.
We are looking for for the following guest performers to complete our cast:
Poor Baby (Lead Role) - M, playing age 7-10
[Three boys will share this role, performing in two shows each.]
Young male actor, good voice for solo singing and group singing. Lots of dialogue and good Southern American accent required.
The Man (Lead role) - M, Tenor, playing age 25-35, 5'10"+
Very demanding lead male role. Excellent singer and experienced actor. Dance skills not required. Tenor with top note of a B flat. Must be able to fit the ‘classic' Jesus description and be credible as the children believe he really is Jesus. A manic, hunted man, who must have the power to move the audience emotionally.
Boone (Supporting Role) - M, Tenor, playing age 35-45
The children’s father; recently widowed and struggling to cope with his young family, especially his almost grown up daughter Swallow. Excellent singer and actor required. Tenor – Top note G#. Southern American accent required.
Edward (Supporting Role) - M, Baritone, playing age 40s-60s
Family friend who looks out for the kids. Excellent singer and actor required. Baritone - Top note is F#. Southern American accent required.
Minister (Cameo Role) - M, Baritone/Tenor, playing age 35-60
The town’s church minister who will lead the singing in the opening song, "The Vaults of Heaven". Will also play ensemble and other cameo roles throughout. Southern American accent required.
Preacher (Cameo Role) - M, Tenor, playing age 35-50
The leader of the revival meetings. Uses snakes to gain religious recruits. Good actor with some Singing. Tenor – Top note is A. "Leads Wrestle with the Devil", a company number. Will also play ensemble and other cameo roles throughout. Southern American accent required.
Sheriff (Cameo Role) - M, Baritone, playing age 35-60
Typical small town Sheriff. He is concerned about the safety of the townsfolk with an escaped convict loose in the town. Dialogue and some solo singing. Baritone – Top note is a D. Southern American accent required.
Deputy (Cameo Role) - M, playing age 25-35
Some dialogue and company singing. Will also play ensemble and other cameo roles throughout. Southern American accent required.

(To play ensemble and cameos, need to be strong singers confident 'movers'.)
We rehearse weekly on Saturday mornings between 10:00am and 1:00pm, but you would not be needed for all Saturdays. A detailed schedule will be available at the auditions and we will work around availability issues for those we cast in roles.
