Due to the current restrictions surrounding public indoor performances, we have suspended our work towards full-scale musical productions. Instead, for the time-being we are offering workshops in musical theatre which run on Saturdays, 10:00am until 1:00pm, either at Christleton High School in Chester or online via Zoom from our new studio.
Each workshop will focus on some of the key numbers from a particular musical over a 4 week period combining elements of dance, singing and acting, which will result in a short video-recorded performance (or video montage performance for online workshops) in the final week which will be available for parents to view for a limited period the following week on our private YouTube channel. This fulfils our two main aims for members at OTMYT; ‘Learning’ the skills required for musical theatre but also with an element of ‘Doing’, aiming for that final week where they will get to show their work.
These workshops will not be ‘cast’ as such; all members will have equal involvement and we will make them as high-quality, challenging and fun as we can. We really hope it will feel just like a typical OTMYT Saturday morning!
As we are categorised as 'Educational' by local government we are normally able to carry on with our workshops face to face during Tier Restrictions. However, during periods of school closures, when we will not be able to offer the sessions face to face, we will run our workshops online using our professional Zoom studio. From January 2021, we will not be able to offer a refund in these circumstances.
If you have any questions, please contact us at any time.
