The application window for a January 2025 start, to be in our production of Cats the Musical at Storyhouse, Chester, is now open! Please read all of the following information then scroll down and click APPLY ONLINE NOW to join.

OTMYT Seniors offers a weekly (Saturdays) three hours of musical theatre fun and skills training in Acting, Singing & Dance to children aged 9-19. In line with our ethos of 'Learning by Doing', these sessions work towards two productions per academic year which are, for 2024/25:

• September - December 2024: Rehearsals for and performances of Musical Theatre's Greatest Hits.
• January - August 2025: Rehearsals for and performances of Cats by Andrew Lloyd-Webber at Storyhouse, Chester.

Commitment is for a minimum of one school term (September - December) or two school terms (January - July).

Dates

OTMYT Seniors sessions take place on Saturday mornings, term time, from 10:00am until 1:00pm. 

Weekly Sessions

Spring:

• Saturday 4th January - Saturday 5th April (12 weekly sessions).
• Note - No sessions on Saturday 15th February or Saturday 22nd February, due to half term.

Summer:

• Saturday 26th April - Saturday 19th July (11 weekly sessions - see below)
• Note - The session on 12th July will be 10:00am-4:00pm to make up the twelfth session.
• Note - No sessions on Saturday 24th May or Saturday 31st May, due to half term.

Additional Rehearsals

Monday 11th August, 10:00am-4:00pm

Tuesday 12th August, 10:00am-4:00pm

Technical Rehearsals/Dress Rehearsals

Thursday 14th August, All Day (at Storyhouse, Chester)

Performances

Friday 15th August (times tbc but likely to be 2:30pm and 7:30pm)

Saturday 16th August (times tbc but likely to be 2:30pm and 7:30pm)

Note - All cast members will appear in at least one matinee and one evening performance. Some cast members may appear in more than two performances.

Fees

The cost is £504 for the two terms, in total, payable in one of the three following ways:  

Option 1: 4-Weekly

Six instalments of £84, on or before the following dates:

• Saturday 4th January (Week 1, Spring)
• Saturday 1st February (Week 5, Spring)
• Saturday 15th March (Week 9, Spring)
• Saturday 26th April (Week 1, Summer)
• Saturday 7th June (Week 5, Summer)
• Saturday 5th July (Week 9, Summer)

Option 2: Termly

Two instalments of £252, on or before the following dates:

• Saturday 4th January (Week 1, Spring)
• Saturday 26th April (Week 1, Summer)

Option 3: Single Payment

A single payment of £504, on or before Saturday 4th January (Week 1, Spring).

Important Notes

• Members must be aged 9-19 on the day of the first rehearsal session (Saturday 4th January 2025)
• There is no audition to join OTMYT and places are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Applications must be made by a parent/guardian, even if the prospective member is over 18.
