Tom Maurice
Tom began his career in live music in Manchester and in video production, before stepping into the world of musical theatre sound design in 2015. A graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University with a BSc in Media Technology.
He has worked on a wide range of productions across notable venues, including Rock of Ages at Northwich Memorial Court—which won Best Sound Design at the ACT 2024 Out of the Spotlight Awards—Oliver at the Regent Theatre, Calendar Girls at Storyhouse, Joseph at Theatr Clwyd, and Shrek the Musical at Crewe Lyceum. Tom typically designs sound for around 35 musicals and plays each year.
At OTMYT, Tom is responsible for the sound design of the company’s productions, ensuring that every performance is heard with clarity and impact. Having started his own journey in theatre as a performer, Tom is passionate about making sure every voice is heard and is committed to raising the standard of sound design in youth and community theatre.
