Simon Phillips
Simon has been working in theatre and music for over 20 years and as well as his role with OTMYT, he is also currently the Head of Music and Performing Arts at Christleton High School, in Chester.
Simon originally trained as a musician; he plays piano, clarinet, saxophone and flute. He is an avid composer, although he is still yet to complete the final movement of the Symphony he started writing over two decades ago!
Simon's work with youth theatre began before his high school teaching career, when he worked as Musical Director for Castaway and as Singing Teacher at Stagecoach Theatre Arts. Since then he has gone on to produce, direct and musically direct over 50 stage productions, many of them for a youth cast.
Having founded On The Mark Theatre Company, for their debut production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee earlier in 2017, Simon was delighted when Janice and Luke (co-founders) agreed to work with him to create On The Mark Youth Theatre (OTMYT) to provide a production-based outlet for the best young talent in Chester and the surrounding areas.
